An outdoor projector enclosure is only as reliable as its temperature control board. Generic thermostats manage a single fan, but cooling, heating, dehumidifying, anti-fog and alarm logic need a purpose-built board. This guide covers its hardware, linkage logic and cloud control.

Why a Projector Enclosure Needs a Dedicated Control Board

Generic temperature controllers only start and stop a fan. Outdoor projector boxes face a harder job: they must cool in summer, heat in winter, dehumidify before fog forms on the lens, trigger remote alarms and coordinate multiple sensors. A generic board misfires, leaves conflicting parameters and fails in extreme weather. A projector-specific control board is programmed for these exact working conditions and suits both internal-recirculation and air-cooled external-recirculation enclosures.

Hardware and Sensor Architecture

The board reads multiple high-accuracy NTC temperature sensors in parallel: an in-cabinet temperature-humidity probe, an external ambient temperature probe and a condensation probe at the projection window, with optional water-immersion and smoke sensors. Temperature accuracy is ±0.5 °C and humidity accuracy is ±3% RH, far better than the ±2 °C of a consumer thermostat, so the linkage program gets precise data. Built-in overload, short-circuit and reverse-polarity protection keeps the board and loads safe under fluctuating outdoor mains power. All sensing and control sit on one board, which keeps wiring simple and commissioning fast for installers and system integrators.

Core On-Board Linkage Logic

The factory default program ships pre-tuned for outdoor projector boxes and works out of the box. Four logic rules run continuously.

High-Temperature Cooling

When the internal temperature reaches 37 °C (35 °C preset + 2 °C hysteresis), the board starts the cooling fan or AC compressor. When the temperature falls back to 33 °C (preset – 2 °C), it stops the cooling load to avoid wasted energy.

Low-Temperature Heating

When the ambient temperature is 5 °C or below and humidity is 85% RH or higher, the board starts the enclosure heater. It stops heating when the temperature rises to 10 °C and humidity drops to 75% RH or lower, preventing lens condensation and low-temperature startup faults.

Dehumidification and Anti-Fog

When humidity exceeds 80% RH, the dehumidifier runs first and the internal purge blows across the projection opening, clearing fog, frost and moisture from the optical glass so the picture stays sharp.

Fault Self-Lock

If the fan, heater or compressor fails, the board locks itself and raises an alarm instead of letting the faulty load burn out the whole electrical system.

Multi-Device Priority and Cluster Control

The board runs a fixed execution priority: safety alarm signal, then dehumidification / anti-fog, then low-temperature heating, then high-temperature cooling, then standby. In cold, humid weather the dehumidifier runs before heating, so conflicting commands can never shut the system down. In a multi-box project, one controller manages many enclosures and applies identical climate parameters across the whole site. This one-to-many architecture is ideal for projection shows, media facades and scenic-area display networks where every enclosure must behave the same way.

Cloud Remote Control and Alerts

The board ships with WiFi, Ethernet and 4G interfaces and natively integrates with the AliCloud IoT platform. Local data is encrypted and uploaded; you can change start and stop thresholds remotely, start or stop fans, heaters and AC manually, and receive SMS plus dashboard pop-up alerts.

Customization and OEM Service

Shenzhen Shirui customizes every threshold, delay time, alarm rule and communication protocol for your project. The board supports RS485 integration with building management systems and OEM firmware branding, and is compatible with the full Shirui range of outdoor projector enclosures and outdoor network cabinets. Compared with generic bought-in controllers, the dedicated logic is far easier to commission and cuts on-site failure rates by more than 90%.

The Bottom Line

An outdoor projector installation lives or dies by its climate control. A purpose-built temperature control board keeps the enclosure cool in summer, warm in winter, dry and fog-free at the lens, and reachable from the cloud. For system integrators this means fewer site visits, faster commissioning and lower total cost of ownership. Choose the right board and your outdoor projection investment stays reliable for years.
